The Dingles, Blossomfield Road, Solihull History

Came across this newspaper article in an April 1908 Birmingham Gazette that I have.

A large house in Blossom field's road, Solihull was for sale by auction because the owner, Henry Weston Esq, was moving near to London. Called "The Dingles"

In fact the house extended to over 10 acres including the house, well laid out and beautifully planted grounds, lawns, gardening, stables, coachman's cottage and three fields of old turf

Of course the house and grounds are no longer. Long given up to the houses and roads that have been built since.

War Memorial

Although I check and double check the information given for the War Memorial. I will have still made some errors. For this I apologies but I am only human. Due to the wording being difficult to read and my copying errors, its a wonder that I have not made many more mistakes. But there is also the errors that are on the War Memorials - names miss spelt or the name changed around with the middle name as the forename. There are also some errors caused at taking the information in the first place from relatives and also the stone masons errors. Some soldiers especially in the First World War did not give their real name and the fact that the regiment may be not attributed to a local one can cause problems when trying to trace ancestors. In all it can make it very difficult to trace certain brave soldiers.
